* ACRYLIC WINDOW INSTALLATION PROCEDURE *

  1. FRAMED AND BUILT INSIDE EXISTING SCREEN FRAME LEAVING A MININUM OF 3"BETWEEN WINDOW FRAME AND SCREENFRAME (ON UPPER FLOORS) TO ALLOW FOR FUTURE SCREENING.

  2. ALL UPRIGHTS AND SPREADER BARS WILL LINE UP DIRECTLY BEHIND EXISTING SCREEN FRAME AS TO ACHIEVE A CLEAN LOOK FROM THE OUTSIDE AS WELL AS THE INSIDE VIEW.

  3. ROUGH FRAME AND WINDOW FRAMES WILL BE MADE OF WHITE OR BRONZE ALUMINUM DEPENDING ON THE COLOR OF THE EXISTING SCREEN FRAME.

  4. THE ROUGH FRAME WILL BE CONNECTED TO THE CONCRETE EVERY 10" USING 1/4"x 2 1/4" LEAD DRIVE PINS SEALING EACH HOLE WITH 3M 5200 SEALANT.

  5. THE WINDOW TRACK SYSTEM IS CONNECTED TO THE ROUGH FRAME USING #10 3/4" WEATHER COATED TECH SCREWS EVERY 12".

  6. ALL ALUMINUM TO CONCRETE CONNECTIONS WILL BE SEALED WITH G.E. 25 YEAR SILICONE.

  7. THE REVEAL BETWEEN THE WINDOW TRACK AND THE ROUGH FRAME WILL BE SEALED WITH G.E. 25 YEAR SILICONE.

  8. EACH WINDOW WILL CONSIST OF A STIFFENER BAR AT CHAIR RAIL HEIGHT AND TWO LOCKS PLACED ACCORDING TO THE HEIGHT OF THE WINDOW.

  9. ALL WINDOW TRACKS WILL HAVE WEEP HOLES. 5/16" HOLES WILL ALSO BE ADDED EVERY 12" ALONG THE BOTTOM 1x2 OF THE EXISTING SCREEN FRAME FOR DRAINAGE.

  10. 5/16" WEEP HOLES WILL ALSO BE ADDED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE ROUGH FRAME SO IF THE WINDOWS ARE REMOVED IN THE EVENT OF A HURRICANE THE WATER WILL HAVE A WAY TO EXIT.

  11. ALL LOWER UNITS WILL GET A NEW DOOR IN PLACE OF THE OLD DOOR. THE NEW DOOR WILL LOOK SIMILAR BUT IS OF A BETTER QUALITY. IT WILL CONSIST OF AN 8" KICKPLATE ON THE BOTTOM, TWO VERTICAL SLIDING WINDOWS, KEYED DEADBOLT LOCK, HEAVY DUTY PISTON RETURN, THRESHOLD, BUGSWEEP, AND SCREEN.

  12. THE ACRYLIC COMES EITHER CLEAR OR TINTED DEPENDING ON THE PREFERENCE OF THE HOMEOWNER AND/OR THE ASSOCIATION. I USUALLY RECOMMEND A GREY TINT FOR UNITS FACING EAST AND WEST.
